Gene Information

human ... DGKZ(8525)

General description

Diacylglycerol kinase zeta ζ (DGKZ) belongs to the diacylglycerol kinase family. It is expressed in the central nervous system and comprises a nuclear localization signal, ankyrin repeats, and a PDZ-binding motif. DGKZ gene is localized on human chromosome 11p11.2.

Immunogen

DGKZ (NP_963290, 994-1029)
This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide selected from the C-terminal region of human DGKZ.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Diacylglycerol kinase zeta ζ (DGKZ) plays a key role in brain development. It mediates the conversion of diacylglycerol to phosphatidic acid. Elevated DGKZ levels is observed in human metastatic colon cancer. DGKZ protein defects are implicated in osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) leading to a phenotype characterized by fractures in utero and after birth, callus formation, and beaded ribs. DGKZ also regulates bone homeostasis. Knockdown of the DGKζ gene leads to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in glioma cells.

Physical form

Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide.
