General description

The Human IGFBP-3 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked mmunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human IGFBP-3 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

Immunogen

Recombinant Human IGFBP3

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)

Biochem/physiol Actions

Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 3 (IGFBP3) is implicated in cell survival. In addition, it also facilitates cell death and tumorigenesis. Epigenetic changes in IGFBP3 affect non-small-cell lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, ovarian cancer, skin cancer, urological cancers, breast cancer and gastric cancer. IGFBP3 is a primary growth inhibitor and can reverse the mitogenic functions of IGF-1 (insulin like growth factor 1) by inducing apoptosis.
