General description

We provide high viability cryopreserved hepatocytes, sourced from LifeNet Health® that predictably represents in vivo conditions. Applications for primary hepatocytes include in vitro evaluation of metabolism, drug-drug interaction, drug transporter activity, and toxicity of drug candidates. There are many other applications that encompass cryopreserved hepatocytes.

Application

See technical bulletins for detailed protocols.

Click lot availability link to get a complete list of currently available hepatocyte lots from LifeNet Health®.

Once the lot number(s) of interest are determined enter the lot number into the “Certificate of Analysis” request search engine at the bottom of the page to obtain a pdf copy of the CoA. Note, lot number CoA upload is only available on the product number detail page corresponding with the lot number.

Features and Benefits

These cryopreserved hepatocytes are sourced from LifeNet Health®. All cryopreserved hepatocytes have post-thaw viabilities over 80%. These lots are also characterized for Phase I CYP450 isoform and Phase II drug-metabolizing enzyme activity. Cryopreserved hepatocytes can be used for a variety of applications including metabolic stability, clearance, metabolite ID, metabolite profiling, species comparison studies, and uptake transporter studies.

Each lot is fully characterized for viability/stability, cell yield, attachment efficiency, optimal seeding density, monolayer confluency, Phase I and Phase II drug metabolizing enzyme activities and cyp induction. We have a wide selection of lots that can be used for a variety of applications, including, but not limited to:

  • Drug metabolizing enzyme activity (stability, clearance, metabolite profiling and ID)
  • Time-dependent metabolism (plated assay for low-clearance compounds)
  • CYP450 Induction (mRNA and activity)
  • Plated drug transporter assays (uptake and efflux)
  • Toxicity assays
  • High content analysis
  • High content imaging
  • 3D culture

Packaging

This product will be shipped in a liquid nitrogen dry shipper supplied from Cryoport. Please remember to ship the container back to Cryoport once you have removed the materials. Additional Cryoport shipping charges may apply.
