Application

Active enzyme for study of stress-activated protein kinases.
May be used for activation of p38α followed by phosphorylation of MBP.

Unit Definition

1 unit will activate 1 unit of p38/SAPK2 per minute. 1 unit of active p38/SAPK2 will incorporate 1 nanomole of phosphorus into myelin basic protein per minute.

Physical form

Solution in approx. 1 mg/ml in 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 0.1 mM EGTA, 0.1% 2-mercaptoethanol, 0.15 M NaCl, 0.03% Brij® L23, 270 mM sucrose, 0.2 mM PMSF, 1 mM benzamidine.
