Gene Information

General description

Anti-kindlin-2 recognizes human, mouse, rat and canine kindlin-2. Kindlin-2, also known as fermitin family member 2 (FERMT2) or pleckstrin homology domain-containing family C member 1 (PLEKHC1), is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 14q22.1. Kindlin-2 is a member of the kindlin protein family and has a ubiquitous expression pattern.

Application

Anti-kindlin-2 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Kindlin-2 acts as a focal adhesion protein and controls breast cancer progression by promoting genome instability. Kindlin-2, as an integrin-interacting protein, plays a vital role in integrin activation and integrin-mediated cell-extracellular matrix (ECM) interaction. Kindlin-2 expression is associated with poor prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs). Therefore, kindlin-2 can be considered as a potential biomarker for patients with HCC and PDACs.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

For continuous use, store at 2-8°C for up to one month. For extended storage freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.

Other Notes

In order to obtain best results in different techniques and preparations we recommend determining optimal working concentration by titration test.

Kindlin-2, an integrin-interacting protein, regulates breast cancer progression. However, currently, no animal model to study the role of Kindlin-2 in the carcinogenesis of mammary gland is available. We established a Kindlin-2 transgenic mouse model using a mammary gland-specific promoter, mammary

Kindlin-2, as a focal adhesion protein, has been found to regulate tumor progression. However, the mechanism underlying Kindlin-2 regulation of tumor progression is largely unknown. Here, we report that Kindlin-2 regulates breast cancer cell proliferation, apoptosis and chromosomal abnormalities in
