General description
IgA antibody is secretory antibody and is present abundantly in mucous linings of gastrointestinal, respiratory and genitourinary tracts, tears, colostrum and saliva. Thus secretory IgA contributes to the humoral defense mechanism against the pathogens on mucosal surfaces
Human IgA is purified from pooled normal human colostrum by fractionation and ion-exchange fractionation.
Human IgA is purified from pooled normal human colostrum by fractionation and ion-exchange fractionation.
Application
Purified IgA may be used as a reference antigen, standard, blocking agent or coating protein in a variety of immunoassays including ELISA, dot immunobinding, immunoblotting, immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoresis. Other applications include starting materials for the preparation of immunogens and solidphase immunoadsorbents. IgA from human colostrum was used as a standard in ELISA (1 mg/ml) and gel electrophoresis.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with buffered saline (150 mM sodium chloride).

Porous graphitized carbon (PGC) based chromatography achieves high-resolution separation of glycan structures released from glycoproteins. This approach is especially valuable when resolving structurally similar isomers and for discovery of novel and/or sample-specific glycan structures. However, the implementation of PGC-based separations
