General description

The gene PTPN4 (tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 4) is mapped to human chromosome 2q14.2. The protein contains an amino-terminal FERM domain (band 4.1, ezrin, radixin and moesin), a PDZ (PSD95, Dlg1 and zo-1) domain and a carboxyl-terminal phosphatase domain.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

PTPN4 (tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 4) prevents cell death. It has been shown to phosphorylate the glutamate receptor δ2 and ε subunits, the T-cell receptor ξ subunit and the CrkI (v-crk avian sarcoma virus CT10 oncogene) oncoprotein.
