Application

All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry.

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. Biochem/physiol Actions

PAPOLA (poly(A) polymerase α, also referred to as PAP (poly(A) polymerase)) is a key molecule involved in the addition of the poly(A) at the 3′ end of pre-mRNA. It consists of a C-terminal serine/threonine-rich domain with multiple cyclin-dependent kinase (cdk) sites. The C-terminal has target sites for protein–protein interaction with the 25kDa subunit of cleavage factor I (CFI) and with splicing factors U1A and U2AF65 (U2 small nuclear RNA auxiliary factor). It interacts with both G1 and G2-type cyclins and is a substrate for phosphorylation by cyclin-cdk pairs. The activity of PAP can be regulated through phosphorylation by various regulatory proteins during the cell cycle. In the M phase of the cell cycle, the activity of PAP is negatively regulated by cyclin B-cdc2 kinase hyperphosphorylation.
