Gene Information

human ... SOX11(6664)

General description

SOX11 (SRY-box 11) is a transcription factor, that has a high mobility group (HMG) box. It is located on human chromosome 2p25. The protein is expressed in the central and peripheral nervous system, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, gonads and the mesenchyme.

Immunogen

Transcription factor SOX-11 recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

Application

Anti-SOX11 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry and western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

SOX11 (SRY-box 11) plays an important role in the development of the brain. Deletion and de novo mutations of SOX11 results in neurodevelopmental disorders along with characteristics of Coffin−Siris syndrome. The protein also has a role in embryonic and adult neurogenesis, craniofacial osteogenesis, ocular morphogenesis and cardiac growth.

Features and Benefits

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.
