How do I calculate the molarity of product E4389, β-Estradiol - Water Soluble?
Product E4389 (β-Estradiol-Water Soluble) is a complex of β-Estradiol and cyclodextrin. Cyclodextrin is used to aid in the solubility of β-Estradiol into water. In order to prepare a molar solution of β-Estradiol you will have to base it on the β-Estradiol content in the solution and not the entire complex. Product E4389 is formulated to contain 40 - 55 mg β-Estradiol per gram of powder (we will use 48 mg in the example). Based on this average, if you are preparing a 25 mg/ml stock solution, there will be approximately 1.2 mg of β-Estradiol in 1 ml.
