General description
Dulbecco′s Modified Eagle′s Medium (DME) is a modification of basal medium Eagle (BME) that contains a 4-fold higher concentration of amino acids and vitamins, as well as additional supplementary components. The original DME formula, first reported for culturing embryonic mouse cells, contained 1,000 mg/L of glucose.
Application
Dulbecco′s Modified Eagle′s Medium-low glucose has been used:
- during organoid embedding for neutralizing thawed collagen I
- to culture melanoma cancer cell lines
- to store the cancer tissue samples
- as a differentiation culture medium for C2C12 cells
Preparation Note
Supplement with 3.7 g/L sodium bicarbonate, 0.584 g/L L-glutamine, 0.004 g/L folic acid, at 1×.
