Gene Information

General description

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone detected in the blood and urine during pregnancy. The peak levels of HCG are detected around Week 12 of gestation and diminish during remaining period of pregnancy. HCG is composed of α and β subunits. There are five variants of HCG that have been identified; HCG, hyperglycosylated HCG, sulphated HCG, free β subunit and pituitary HCG. The important functions of HCG include implantation, angiogenesis, progesterone production, regulation of immune cells and cytotrophoblast differentiation and development of placenta
Anti-Chorionic Gonadotropin (α + α subunits) antibody is specific for both α and β subunits of human chorionic gonadotropin.

HCG

Application

Anti-Chorionic Gonadotropin (α + α subunits) antibody may be used for RIA at a minimum working dilution of 1:50,000. For immunohistochemistry, the recommended working dilution is 1:100-1:200. The antibody was also used for immunofluorescence at a working dilution of 1:50 and for ELISA.

Reconstitution

Dilute with buffer: 0.01 M phosphate, pH 7.8, 0.15 M sodium chloride, 0.5% bovine serum albumin and 0.1 sodium azide.
