General description

Cesium methanesulfonate is used as a component of intracellular recording solutions of electrodes for patch clamp techniques in cell electrophysiology studies. Cesium methanesulfonate is used as an current carrier as cesium acts as a potassium (K+) channel blocker, while methanesulfonate is not transported through chloride (Cl-) channels.

Application

Cesium methanesulfonate has been used as a supplement in intracellular solution for the patch clamp recording system.
