A sensitive d-amino acid oxidase (DAAO)/peroxidase (POD) bienzyme biosensor is constructed, in which pentacyanoferrate-bound poly(1-vinylimidazole) polymer (PVI[Fe(CN)5]) is selected as a mediator. Reductive current of PVI[Fe(CN)5] related to the H2O2 concentration generated in the DAAO reaction was measured at -0.1V

D-amino acid oxidase (DAO) is a degradative enzyme that is stereospecific for D-amino acids, including D-serine and D-alanine, which are potential coagonists of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor. Dysfunction of NMDA receptor-mediated neurotransmission has been implicated in the onset of various

Polyriboinosinic-polyribocytidilic acid (polyI:C) is a synthetic analog that elicits viral-like immune responses in mammals. We have recently found that polyI:C treatment in neonatal mice induced abnormalities of emotional, cognitive, and sensorimotor gating and dysfunction of glutamatergic neurotransmission in adulthood.
