  5. Can products be covalently attached through binding to the Rhodamine dye on the bead for the Micro particles based on melamine resin, rhodamine B marked?

For Mico Particles based on Melamine Resin, Rhodamine B-marked, fluorescent, the fluorophores are not coated on the particles’ surfaces but are incorporated throughout their interiors. Plus, the amount of applied dye is below 0.2 wt.-%, or so. Hence, the approach of coupling anything via dye-borne functional groups is not very promising. Nitrogen centers of the polymer itself are not accessible for covalent bonds either. For coupling reactions whatsoever, it is recommended to use the micro Particles with functional groups such as 83088 and 88893, Micro particles based on melamine resin, carboxylate modified, rhodamine B-marked.
