General description

Anti-CD74 stains predominantly germinal center lymphocytes and B-cell lymphomas but rarely T-cell lymphomas. It stains the cell membrane but a paranuclear globular labeling is also noted. It is a useful addition to the lymphoma phenotyping panel. Anti-CD74 has been shown to be useful in differentiating atypical fibroxanthoma from malignant fibrous histiocytoma, as well as small cell lung carcinomas from non-small cell lung carcinomas.

Cancer, 70(10), 2517-2523 (1992-11-15)
There is great diversity in the clinical presentation of CD30 (Ki-1)-positive, anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). The authors report two patients in whom the clinical and morphologic features mimicked gastrointestinal carcinoma. Surgical pathology specimens were examined using standard histologic techniques.

In this study, the authors examined the expression of LN-2, an antigen expressed by B cells, macrophages, and Reed-Sternberg cells, in a variety of spindle cell lesions of the skin to determine whether LN-2 immunoreactivity can be used to differentiate

In the course of investigating 30 monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) for their potential reactivity with 25 lung tumors of different histologic types, we found that three MAbs commonly used for their specificities for lymphoid markers were highly reactive with non-small-cell carcinomas

Extensive immunohistochemical analyses of the hyperplastic human palatine tonsil disclosed variegated B cell phenotypes on the lymphoid cells among the crypt epithelium. The reticular epithelial network was evident by cytokeratin immunostaining. The reticular epithelium near the crypt lumen was positive
