General description

MB1 antibody stains preferentially B-cells and their neoplasms but is less specific as it will also react with some T-cell lymphomas and non-lymphoid tumors. The antigen for this antibody is in the membrane of all B-cells with the exception of plasma cells and some mature T-cells.

The absence of reactivity on routinely prepared tissue sections has hampered the use of monoclonal antileukocyte antibodies in diagnostic histopathology. Here we describe five new antibodies reactive with leukocyte subsets in formaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Antibody MT1 is reactive with

Formalin fixed and paraffin wax embedded tissue from 24 cases of T-cell lymphoma diagnosed using immunocytochemistry on cryostat sections was examined using a panel of eight monoclonal and three polyclonal antisera. The monoclonal antibodies UCHL1 and MT1 proved to be

The differential expression of various membrane CD45R isoforms by normal lymphocyte populations is known to be closely associated with distinct immunoregulatory functions. Abnormal patterns of CD45R expression have been reported in patients with common variable immunodeficiency and HIV infection, and

The monoclonal antibodies MB1 and MT1, which detect B cells and T cells respectively, have been applied to human lymphoid tissues. The distribution of staining within paraffin sections was compared with that observed using frozen sections and was found to

The membrane expression of CD45R isoforms by leukaemic blasts from 92 cases of acute myeloid (AML) and 12 cases of lymphoblastic leukaemia was analysed by single and two-colour flow cytometry. Compared to normal mature granulocytes, which invariably expressed UCHL1 (CD45RO)
