General description

Acetic acid is an organic carboxylic acid. It is a pungent smelling hygroscopic liquid. Glacial acetic acid is the anhydrous acetic acid. It forms dimers linked by hydrogen bonds in solution and gaseous commonly referred as phases. It is weakly acidic in nature.[1]

Application

The product is an HPLC buffer.
Used as a solvent/reagent in:
  • Extraction of E. coli based porphyrin for subsequent LC-MS/MS analysis
  • HPLC quantification of carbohydrate composition in sugarcane bagasse pulp
