General description

Sodium phosphate monobasic acts as an acidulant in laxatives and effervescent powders. It is used in beverages, cheese and soft drink formulations.[1]

Application

Sodium phosphate monobasic has been used:
  • as a reagent for virus transfection and fiber implantation in mouse[2]
  • in phosphate buffer for immunocytochemistry[3] and to detect individual catalase activity by PAGE (polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis)[4]
  • as a buffer for cycling assay[5]
  • in automated DNA extraction method[6]
  • as a chemical in artificial cerebro-spinal fluid (aCSF) solution for the preparation of brainstem-spinal cord from rats[7]
