General description

Tris-Glycine buffer is primarily used as a running buffer and to prepare transfer buffer in western blot analysis with the addition of methanol. This buffer can separate proteins by their size. It has a pH of 8.3.

Application

Suitable for use as:
  • Transfer buffer component in western blot
  • Running buffer in native gel electrophoresis for protein separation
  • Running buffer in gradient polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE)

Features and Benefits

  • Ready-to-use buffer
  • No measuring and pH adjusting needed
  • Saves time and minimizes the effort
  • Biological tests: free of DNase, RNase, protease, and nickase
  • Chemical tests: Iron ≤10 ppm, lead ≤5 ppm

Packaging

Foil pouches

Reconstitution

Contents of one pouch, when dissolved in 500 mL of ultrapure water, will yield a 1x solution containing 25 mM Tris, 192 mM Glycine, pH 8.3 at 25 °C. Contents tested to be DNAse, RNAse, Protease, and Nickase free.

Storage and Stability

Store at room temperature. Product may naturally agglomerate but can be simply broken up within the pouch prior to use.
