General description

10X Tris-EDTA or TE buffer has two components. Tris buffer is a commonly used stable, non-toxic, and non-hygroscopic buffer. Also, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), a metal chelator, binds with cation metal ions that further inactivate the DNase enzyme which requires metal ions to activate. It has a pH range of 7.9 - 8.1.

Application

TE buffer is intended for use in:
  • Nucleic acid gel electrophoresis
  • storage and dilution of DNA and RNA
  • DNA automated sequencing
  • Immunohistochemistry

Features and Benefits

  • Fast and easy Ready-to-use buffer
  • Minimizes effort - no need to weigh and adjust pH
  • Saves time and eliminates exposure to hazardous chemicals
  • Biological tests: free of DNase, RNase, protease, and nickase
  • Chemical tests: Iron ≤10 ppm, lead ≤5 ppm

Packaging

Foil pouch

Reconstitution

Contents of one pouch, when dissolved in 500mL of distilled or deionized water, will yield a 10X solution containing 100mM Tris, 10mM EDTA, pH 8.0 at 25 °C. Certified to be DNAse, RNAse, Protease, and Nickase free. Certified for use in cell culture.

Storage and Stability

Store at room temperature. Product may naturally agglomerate but can be simply broken up within the pouch prior to use.
