General description

Pyridoxamine dihydrochloride is a salt and amine form of pyridoxamine, which belongs to the family of vitamin B6 compounds. Pyridoxamine occurs naturally in animal-based food products. Its deficiency in humans potentially causes sideroblastic anemia, weakness, insomnia, and neurological disorders. It has been reported to be effective against diabetic nephropathy.

Application

Pyridoxamine dihydrochloride analytical standard can be used as follows:
  • Combined analysis of eight water-soluble vitamins along with their different forms by liquid chromatography combined with isotope-dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS) in different fortified food samples
  • Simultaneous determination of eleven water-soluble B vitamins by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in ultrafiltrate samples
  • Multi-residue analysis of total thiamine, total riboflavin, total pyridoxine, and total niacin in infant formula and related nutritional products by enzymatic digestion followed by LC-MS-MS determination as per AOAC Official Method 2015.14
  • LC/MS-MS based assay of seven different vitamers of vitamin B3 and vitamin B6 in 40 human hair samples
