Application
The Standard Reference Material (SRM) is intended for use as a primary calibration standard for the quantitative determination of magnesium.
Features and Benefits
- Accompanied by a NIST-certified value of magnesium that is metrologically traceable to the SI unit of mass and expressed as a mass fraction.
- Expiration details, instructions for handling, storage and use are provided on the NIST certificate.
General description
Each unit of SRM 3131a includes five 10 mL sealed borosilicate glass ampoules containing an acidified aqueous solution. This solution is prepared gravimetrically to have a known mass fraction of magnesium. It contains nitric acid at a volume fraction of approximately 10%, which corresponds to an amount-of-substance concentration (molarity) of about 1.6 mol/L. For more information, please refer to the COA and SDS.
