General description

This product is a panel of three (3) genetically modified cell lines involving the EGFR gene. The panel consists of a EGFR knockout cell line (EGFR-/-) as well as a EGFRlow and a EGFRhigh expression cell line. The EGFR-/- cell line was generated using CompoZr Zinc Finger Nuclease technology, and the two EGFR expression cell lines were generated using MISSION® lentivirus. The EGFRlow and EGFRhigh cell lines express EGFR at low and high levels relative to the EGFR-/- cell line (EGFRhigh > EGFRlow > EGFR-/-) as measured via fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). As a comparison, wild type A549 cells demonstrate EGFRmedium expression as measured via FACS.

The STR profile of these cell lines match that of its parental cell line - ECACC catalog number 86012804.

Cell Line Description

Derived from a 58 year old Caucasian male. The cells can synthesise lecithin utilising the cytidine diphosphocholine pathway. Occasional cells may also contain inclusion bodies although they are not known to carry any human pathogen.

Features and Benefits

The A549 EGFR antigen panel cell lines feature EGFR expressed at varying levels (KO, low, and high). These cell lines enable researchers to screen and evaluate the efficacy and potency of EGFR-targeted immunotherapies in a biologically-relevant cellular research model.
