General description

Abberior® STAR 488 dye was developed for STED and confocal microscopy in the green spectral region. It can be very effectively excited with the prominent 488 nm laser line. For STED microscopy, this fluorescent dye can be efficiently used with STED laser wavelengths between 590 - 610 nm. This category of dyes can substitute dyes like Oregon Green 488, Atto 488 or ALEXA FLUOR 488. Organic fluorescent dye conjugate with biotin is suitable for fluorescence labeling of avidin- or streptavidin-modified molecules.

Application

Designed and tested for fluorescent super-resolution microscopy

Features and Benefits

  • Combine highest brightness and photostability.
  • Excellent solubility in aqueous buffers as PBS.
  • Allows background-free labeling in cells or tissue.
