General description

A chromogenic medium recommended for isolation and differentiation of E. coli O157:H7 from food and environmental samples.

Application

for isolation and differentiation of E. coli O157:H7 from food and environmental samples

Preparation Note

Suspend 28.85 g in 1 liter distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121°C ) for 15 minutes. Cool to 50°C and pour into sterile petri plates. This medium can be made more selective by aseptically adding 0.25 ml of 1% potassium tellurite solution (Cat. No. 17774) to 1 liter molten and cooled medium (45-50°C).

Footnote

We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
