General description

Melting point standard 69-71 °C, stearic acid is an mp standard, ideal for the routine calibration of melting point apparatus to assure its accuracy, as per local, national and international standards laboratories. The mp value is documented as an average of 6 to 12 iterations using a Büchi B-545 equipment that is calibrated against primary standards. Melting point is ascertained by Capillary method, according to Ph. Eur. 2.2.14.
This substance is listed on the positive list of the EU regulation 10/2011 for plastics intended to come into contact with food.

Application

Stearic Acid melting point standard 69-71 °C is a melting point calibration standard, used for determining the identity and purity of chemical substances.
This product also has additional use as a reference standard in thermal property studies.
