Application

Sodium tartrate dibasic dihydrate (L-(+)-Tartaric acid disodium salt, Sodium-L-tartrate dibasic dihydrate) may be used for the growth of crystals of xylanase C (XynC) from Gram-positive bacterium Bacillus subtilis. It may be used to compose the reservoir solution for the growth of crystals of PcpR (a LysR-type transcription factor from Sphingobium chlorophenolicum L-1).

General description

Sodium tartrate dibasic dihydrate (L-(+)-Tartaric acid disodium salt, Sodium-L-tartrate dibasic dihydrate) is the sodium salt of tartaric acid. Mixtures of dimethyl sulfoxide and 1% aqueous solution of sodium-L-tartrate dibasic dihydrate have been employed for the resolution of various quaternary ammonium surfactants.

PcpR is a LysR-type transcription factor from Sphingobium chlorophenolicum L-1 that is responsible for the activation of several genes involved in polychlorophenol degradation. PcpR responds to several polychlorophenols in vivo. Here, we report the crystal structures of the inducer-binding domain
