General description

Ecamsule is an organic compound added to sunscreens to filter out UVA rays and to protect the skin from adverse effects of ultraviolet light like DNA damage, photo-aging and sunburns.

Application

Ecamsule (ECAM) has been used as a reference standard for observing the photo-stability and photo-sensitizing property of the ecamsule that forms a major ingredient in the production of sunscreen products by laser flash photolysis and steady-state HPLC coupled with mass spectrometry method.
