General description

Ginsenoside Rg5 is a diol-containing ginsenoside,[1] that occurs naturally in Panax ginseng.[2][3] It is found to be a promising agent in the treatment of Alzheimer′s disease.[3]

Application

Ginsenoside Rg5 may be used as a reference standard in the determination of ginsenoside Rg5 in Korean red ginseng using high performance liquid chromatography coupled with evaporative light scattering detection (HPLC-ELSD).[4]
