General description

Diisobutyl adipate (DIBA), a bis(2-methylpropyl) ester of adipic acid, is a plasticizer. It finds use as an additive in plastics and foodstuffs on account of its attractive features such as stability, fluidity and low volatility.

Application

Diisobutyl adipate may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in poly(vinyl chloride) plastics, human serum and food samples by gas chromatography (GC) based analytical techniques.
