General description

2,3-Dimethylpentane belongs to the class of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Application

2,3-Dimethylpentane may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of 2,3-dimethylpentane in:
  • Ambient air samples by thermal desorption-gas chromatography (TD-GC) in conjunction with Deans-switch cutting technique.
  • Exhaled air samples by GC combined with mass spectrometry (MS) operating under the selected ion monitoring (SIM) detection mode.
  • Indoor and outdoor air samples by adsorption using sorbent tubes, followed by analysis using TD-GC-MS with electron impact (EI) ionization.
  • Commercial reagent samples by high resolution GC using graphene-zeolite imdidazole framework (ZIF8) as a stationary phase.
