General description

Special indicator papers cover range from 2 to 5 pH units in general. It has the capacity to change colour at particular pH value. Nonbleeding indicator papers are prepared by either direct dyes or reactive dyes. During reactive dyes procedure, pure linters are suspended in water and reactive dye is added. The mixture is made alkaline for the reaction to start. The fiber pulp is centrifuged, washed to be electrolyte-free and processed as pH paper. Paper produced in this way is bonded to plastic material in order to be used as stick or strip.

Application

It may be used in volatile cyanide detection during Chitinase activity assay to understand the antifungal and phytostimulating characteristic of B. subtilis Ch-13 strain.
