Chemical structure: sulfonamide
Sulfadoxin belongs to the long acting group of sulfonamides, which acts by inhibiting dihydropteroate synthase in intracellular sporozoa such as Eimeria and Toxoplasma and Plasmodium.[1]

Application

Sulfadoxin may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte in plasma samples using packed-column supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC).[2]
