General description

PCB No 209 (Decachlorobiphenyl) is a perhalogenated biphenyl pesticide with halogen atoms in ortho-positions. Its phenyl rings have dihedral angle with high rotational barrier around biphenyl linkage.[1]

Application

PCB No 209 has been used as internal standard in gas chromatography (GC-ECD) analysis for determination of deltamethrin.[2]
PCB No 209 may be used as a reference standard for the determination of polychlorinated biphenyls in biota samples[3] and in coastal marine sediments[4] by simultaneous pressurized liquid extraction and purification and gas chromatography with an electron capture detector, respectively.
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
