General description

Arachidonyl-L-carnitine belongs to the class of long-chain acylcarnitines, a wide range of metabolites, derived from their cognate acyl-CoAs. They serve as good biomarkers for perturbations of a multitude of distinct metabolic pathways.

Application

Arachidonyl-L-carnitine may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in cultured cells using hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) and liquid chromatography–electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC–ESI-MS/MS).
