Application

ACES, or N-(2-Acetamido)-2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, can be used to study biological buffers and zwitterionic compounds. ACES has been used in a study to determine the levels of ibuprofen and flurbiprofen in pharmaceuticals by capillary zone electrophoresis.

Other Notes

Biological buffer component with sodium hydroxide and sodium chloride (pH 5.93-7.83, useful range 6.4-7.4); An efficient separator (pH gradient of less than 1 pH unit) in the resolution of protein systems by IEF; Improves phenotyping of α1-antitrypsin by isoelectric focusing on agarose gel
