Propidium iodide is a fluorogenic compound. It is used in nuclear staining as it binds to nucleic acids stoichiometrically.
Stain for non-viable cells or DNA counterstain in flow cytometric studies.

Application
Propidium iodide is used for:
- Discrimination of viable and non-viable cells in flow cytometry
