General description
Zinc finger protein 746 (ZNF746) is also called Parkin-interacting substrate (PARIS). ZNF746 is a repressor of transcription that binds to promoters and represses the transcription of PGC-1-alpha (PPARGC1A), making it important to the regulation of neuron death. ZNF746 may also contribute to neurodegeneration in Parkinson disease.
Specificity
This antibody recognizes the N-terminus of ZNF746. This antibody does not cross react with ZNF783 or ZNF398 (Prof. J. Trimmer, University of California, Davis.).
Immunogen
Epitope: N-terminus
Recombinant protein corresponding to the N-terminus of human Paris/ZNF746.
Application
Anti-Paris/ZNF746 Antibody, clone N196/16 is a highly specific mouse monoclonal antibody & that targets Zinc Finger Protein & has been tested in western blotting.

The E3 ubiquitin ligase Parkin plays an important role in regulating clearance of dysfunctional or unwanted mitochondria in tissues, including the heart. However, whether Parkin also functions to prevent cardiac aging by maintaining a healthy population of mitochondria is still

PARK2 is the most common gene mutated in monogenic recessive familial cases of Parkinson's disease (PD). Pathogenic mutations cause a loss of function of the encoded protein Parkin. ParkinKO mice, however, poorly represent human PD symptoms as they only exhibit

Progressive dopaminergic neurodegeneration is responsible for the canonical motor deficits in Parkinson's disease (PD). The widely prescribed anti-diabetic medicine metformin is effective in preventing neurodegeneration in animal models; however, despite the significant potential of metformin for treating PD, the therapeutic

Various stresses, including oxidative stress, impair the proliferative capacity of muscle stem cells leading to declined muscle regeneration related to aging or muscle diseases. ZNF746 (PARIS) is originally identified as a substrate of E3 ligase Parkin and its accumulation is
