Gene Information

mouse ... Myod1(17927)

General description

Myoblast determination protein 1 (MyoD1) is a myogenic transcription factor required for the growth, repair, and regeneration of muscle cells. It induces differentiation of myoblast cells into multinucleated myotubules, activating genes and proteins involved in cell cycle arrest, and differentiation. MyoD1 may also control proliferation and homeostasis during embryogenesis, in the absence of Myf5.

Immunogen

GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to mouse MyoD.

Application

Detect MyoD using this Anti-MyoD Antibody, clone 5F11 validated for use in Western Blotting, ICC.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A representative lot detected MyoD in C2C12 cells.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in C2C12 cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 0.5 µg/mL of this antibody detected MyoD in 10 µg of C2C12 cell lysate.

Target description

~45 kDa observed. An uncharacterized band at ~38 kDa may be observed in some cell lysates. The calculated molecular weight is 34 kDa; however, this protein is known to be glycosylated.

Stiffness gradient hydrogels are a useful platform for studying mechanical interactions between cells and their surrounding environments. Here, we developed linear stiffness gradient hydrogels by controlling the polymerization of gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) via differential UV penetration with a gradient photomask.
