Gene Information

General description

ETS translocation variant 4 protein, alternatively known as Adenovirus E1A enhancer-binding protein E1A-F, or Polyomavirus enhancer activator 3 homolog (PEA3), is encoded by the human gene named ETVA/E1AF/PEA3. ETV4 is a protein that is a transcriptional activator that was first recognized as such because it allowed for the expression of the adenovirus E1A gene upon infection. Today ETV4 has been shown to be active in a wide variety of biological processes from stem cell differentiation, to mammary gland and duct morphogenesis to motor neuron and axon guidance. ETV4 activity is regulated via the ERK/MAP signaling and a complex interplay of post-translation modifications such as sumoylation and ubiquitination. In cancers, ETV4 activates HIF and its subsequent proliferation genes and overexpression in prostate cells leads to oncogenesis. EMD-Millipore’s Anti-ETV4 mouse monoclonal antibody has been tested in western blot against K562 cell lysates as well as recombinantly expressed ETV4 protein.

Immunogen

Purified recombinant fragment of human ETV4 expressed in E. Coli.

Application

Detect ETS translocation variant 4 protein using this mouse monoclonal antibody, Anti-ETV4 Antibody & clone 1A2G3 validated for use in western blotting.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in K562 cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500-2,000 dilution of this antibody detected ETV4 in K562 cell lysate.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

Target description

~54 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may appear in some lysate(s).
