General description
Mucin-13 (MUC-13) is also called Down-regulated in colon cancer 1 (DRCC1). MUC-13 is an epithelial and hemopoietic transmembrane mucin that is likely involved in cell signaling. MUC-13 is highly expressed in epithelial tissues (especially in gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts) as well as kidney, small intestine, appendix and stomach.
Immunogen
Epitope: This antibody recognizes the cytoplasmic domain within the Beta subunit of MUC-13.
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to the cytoplasmic domain of human MUC-13.
Application
Detect Mucin using this mouse monoclonal antibody, Anti-MUC13 Antibody, clone 2E11.1 validated for use in western blotting & IHC (Paraffin).

Target description
~33 and ~60 kDa observed. Swiss-Prot describes a molecular weight of ~55 kDa Due post-translational modification, this protein is cleaved resulting in beta subunit (~33 kDa) and an alpha subunit (Williams, S. J., et al. (2001). J Biol Chem. 276(21):18327-18336. Maher, D. M., et al. (2011). Mol Cancer Res. 9(5):531-537.). Uncharacterized band(s) may be observed in some cell lysates.
