Gene Information

rat ... Cask(29647)

Specificity

CASK. The immunogen protein represents a CASK-specific domain that lies between the calmodulin binding and PDZ domains. MAB5230 exhibits a specific reaction to the two alternatively spliced isoforms of CASK present in the mammalian CNS, the CASK-B or long (~900 amino acid) isoform present in rat brain membrane preparations, and the soluble CASK-A or short (~600 amino acid) isoform.CASK is a synapse-associated Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase that also contains PDZ, SH3 and guanylate kinase domains. CASK is thought to play a critical role in synaptic vesicle exocytosis and synaptic junctions.

Immunogen

CASK-GST fusion protein (amino acids 318-415).

Application

Anti-CASK Antibody, clone K56A is an antibody against CASK for use in WB, IC, IH.

Functional synapse formation requires tight coordination between pre- and post-synaptic termini. Previous studies have shown that postsynaptic expression of heparan sulfate proteoglycan syndecan-2 (SDC2) induces dendritic spinogenesis. Those SDC2-induced dendritic spines are frequently associated with presynaptic termini. However, how postsynaptic

Three groups of evolutionarily conserved proteins have been implicated in the establishment of epithelial cell polarity: the apically-localized proteins of the Par (Par3-Par6-aPKC-Cdc42) and Crumbs groups (Crb3-PALS1-PATJ) and the basolaterally localized proteins of the Dlg group (Dlg1-Scribble-Lgl). Synapses depend on trafficking of key membrane proteins by lateral diffusion from surface populations and by exocytosis from intracellular pools. The cell adhesion molecule neurexin (Nrxn) plays essential roles in synapses, but the dynamics and regulation of its trafficking are
