General description
Mammalian Enabled (Mena) is a protein belonging to ENA/VASP family, a group of proteins that are actin-associated and implicated in a variety cell processes. Specifically, Mena is involved in cell polarity, cell motility, cytoskeleton remodeling, filopodial, and lamellipodial dynamics within migrating cells. Three forms of Mena are expressed in embryonic head tissues and are identified based on molecular weight (140 kDa, 88 kDa, and 80 kDa). In adult wild-type tissues, Mena has been isolated in brain, testis, ovary, and fat in the 80 kDa form. Studies show the 140 kDa form is expressed only in adult brains while the 88 kDa form decreases to undetectable levels by E16, (Lanier, 1999). Mena contains 4 domains of interest; the Ena/VASP homologue 1 (EVH1) domain, an EVH2 domain, a proline-rich domain, and an Arg/Leu/Glu-risch region. Expression of Mena has been observed in the myoepithelia of breast, bronchial glands, parotid, and sweat glands. Mena has also been observed in the epithelium of mouse mucosal tissues: colon-rectum, endometrium, pancreas acinar ductal, placenta vascular media, and prostate fibromuscular stroma. Most breast cancer cell lines, along with lesions from primary breast tumor, demonstrate overexpression of Mena.
Specificity
The antibody recognizes Mena and Mena alternate form (+ exon).
Immunogen
Histidine-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human Mena and an additional fragment of Mena +, comprising only the + exon

Interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix, mediated by integrin adhesion complexes, play key roles in fundamental cellular processes, including the sensing and transduction of mechanical cues. Here, we investigate systems-level changes in the integrin adhesome in patient-derived cutaneous squamous

Cells have many types of actin structures, which must assemble from a common monomer pool. Yet, it remains poorly understood how monomers are distributed to and shared between different filament networks. Simplified model systems suggest that monomers are limited and
