Application

MILLIPLEX® Qualified assays undergo rigourous assay development, verification, and Quality Control testing to achieve optimal performance. Simultaneously analyze 21 analytes in human serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.Analytes included: Fractalkine/CX3CL1, GM-CSF, IFN-gamma, IL-1beta, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-7, IL8/CXCL8, IL-10, IL-12 (p70), IL-13, IL17A/CTLA8, IL-21, IL-23, ITAC/EXCL11, MIP-1α/CCL3, MIP-1β/CCL4, MIP-3α/CCL20 and TNFα.Assay Characteristics: Refer to kit protocol for assay cross-reactivity, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy.

Features and Benefits

Multiplex Capability: Simultaneous quantification of up to 21 cytokines and chemokines in a single sample using Luminex® xMAP® technology.High Sensitivity: Detects cytokines at picogram levels (as low as 0.11 pg/mL), ideal for low-abundance targets in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.Comprehensive Coverage: Includes key T cell-related cytokines such as IL-2, IL-4, IL-10, IL-17A, IFNγ, TNFα, and more.Neuroimmune Axis Coverage: Includes IL-6 and MIP-1β, implicated in neuroinflammatory disorders, allowing you to decipher cytokine roles in Alzheimer′s, depression, or stroke recovery.Metabolic Inflammation Markers: Quantify IL-1β and IL-13, linked to insulin resistance and adipose inflammation to study obesity-driven metabolic syndrome or type 2 diabetes mechanisms.

General description

Cytokines are immunomodulatory polypeptides that play key roles in both adaptive and innate immune responses. One of the regulatory mechanisms of the immune system, cytokines act at the recognition, activation, or effector phases of an immune response, modulating the development and functional activities of the subtypes of T cells, B cells and myeloid cells. Consequently, research involving cytokines plays a significant role in achieving a deeper understanding of the immune system and its multi-faceted response to most antigens, especially those responses that make up the inflammatory process. Low levels of inflammation are involved in many sub-clinical disease states, such as autoimmune disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurological disorders, and cancer. Measuring picogram levels of cytokines, therefore, is critical for understanding the pathogenesis of these diseases.
