General description

Type I Diabetes is an early onset autoimmune disease that destroys insulin producing pancreatic β-cells. Type II Diabetes is later onset metabolic disorder caused by obesity, poor diet and a sedentary lifestyle. With insufficient levels of insulin, or resistance to insulin, elevated glucose can lead to heart disease, stroke, kidney failure and dementia.

MILLIPLEX® Human Diabetes Premixed Bead Panel is a 5-plex kit to be used for the simultaneous quantification of the following analytes in serum, plasma, or culture supernatant samples: C-Peptide, GLP-1 (Active), Glucagon, Insulin, Leptin.

This kit uses a 96-well format, contains a lyophilized standard cocktail, two internal assay quality controls and can measure up to 38 samples in duplicate.

The Luminex® xMAP® platform uses a magnetic bead immunoassay format for ideal speed and sensitivity to quantitate multiple analytes simultaneously, dramatically improving productivity while conserving valuable sample volume.

Panel Type: Metabolism

Specificity

Cross Reactivty
There was no or negligible cross-reactivity between the antibodies for an analyte and any of the other analytes in this panel.
Cross-reactivity between the antibodies and any of the other analytes in this panel is non-detectable or negligible.

Application

  • Analytes: C-Peptide, Glucagon-like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) (Active), Glucagon, Insulin, Leptin
  • Recommended Sample Type: Human serum, plasma, tissue/cell culture supernatants and lysates
  • Recommended Sample Dilution: 25 μL per well of undiluted serum or plasma; tissue/cell culture samples may require a dilution with an appropriate control medium.
  • NOTE: Protease inhibitors must be added to blood upon collection, DPPIV inhibitor for GLP-1 and Aprotinin for Glucagon. See protocol for details.
  • Assay Run Time: Overnight (16-18 hours) at 2-8°C
  • Research Category: Metabolism
  • Research Subcategory: Obesity, Diabetes, Diabetes - Type 1, Diabetes - Type 2
