General description

Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF or FGF-7) is a potent mitogen for keratinocytes and epithelial cells. Human KGF is a 18.9 kDa protein containing 163 amino acid residues.
Product Source: E.coli

Biochem/physiol Actions

The ED50 was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by KGF-responsive BaF3 cells is ≤ 10 ng/mL

Physical form

Lyophilized from 15 mM Sodium Phosphate pH 7.0 + 0.25 M NaCl.

Storage and Stability

The lyophilized powder, though stable for a few weeks at room temperature, is best stored at -20°C. After a quick spin, reconstitute in PBS to a concentration of 0.5-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for future use. Reconstituted KGF should be stored in undiluted aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
