General description

Cytokines are immunomodulatory polypeptides that play key roles in both adaptive and innate immune responses. A generic term, “cytokines” includes myokines (produced by muscle cells), lymphokines (produced by activated Th cells), interleukins (acting as mediators between T cells) and chemokines (responsible for T-cell migration). One of the regulatory mechanisms of the immune system, cytokines act at the recognition, activation, or effector phases of an immune response, modulating the development and functional activities of the subtypes of T cells, B cells and myeloid cells. Research involving cytokines plays a significant role in achieving a deeper understanding of the immune system and its multi-faceted response to most antigens, especially those responses that make up the inflammatory process.

The MILLIPLEX® Feline Cytokine/Chemokine Panel is a 19-plex premixed kit to be used for the simultaneous quantification of all the following analytes in serum, plasma, tissue/cell lysate and culture supernatant samples: Fas, Flt-3L, GM-CSF, IFNγ, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-12 (p40), IL-13, IL-18, KC, MCP-1, PDGF-BB, RANTES, SCF, SDF-1, and TNFα. This kit uses a 96-well format, contains a lyophilized standard cocktail, two internal assay quality controls and can measure up to 38 samples in duplicate.

The Luminex® xMAP® platform uses a magnetic bead immunoassay format for ideal speed and sensitivity to quantitate multiple analytes simultaneously, dramatically improving productivity while conserving valuable sample volume.

Panel Type: Cytokines/Chemokines

Specificity

Cross Reactivty
Cross-reactivity between the antibodies and any of the other analytes in this panel is non-detectable or negligible.

Application

  • Analytes: sFas, Flt-3 Ligand, GM-CSF, IFN-γ, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-12 (p40), IL-13, IL-18, KC, MCP-1, PDGF-BB, RANTES, SCF, SDF-1, TNF-α
  • Recommended Sample Type: Feline serum, plasma, tissue/cell lysate and culture supernatants
  • Recommended Sample
  • Dilution: 10 μL per well of undiluted serum or plasma; 25 μL tissue/cell culture samples may require dilution with an appropriate medium
  • Assay Run Time: Overnight (16-18 hours) at 2-8°C.
  • Research Category: Inflammation & Immunology

Other Notes

Sensitivity: Refer to kit protocol for sensitivites for individual cytokines/chemokinesStandard Curve Range: Refer to QC analysis sheet for exact concentration (TNF-α)
