Gene Information

General description

T-cadherin (CDH13), also known as Cadherin 13, is a member of the cadherin superfamily. This protein is unique from its other family members in that it lacks the cytoplasmic domains and is anchored to the cells membrane through the GPI anchor. T-cadherin is widely expressed in the cardiovascular system. Mutations in T-cadherin have been associated with many types of cancer.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes T-cadherin at the Cadherin 1 domain. This antibody detects the ~130 kDa pro-protein and the proteolytically cleaved ~105 kDa mature isoforms. (Denzel, M., et al. (2010). J Clin Invest.120(12):4342–4352.)

Immunogen

Epitope: Cadherin 1 domain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human T-cadherin at the Cadherin 1 domain.

Application

Anti-T-cadherin (CDH13) Antibody detects level of T-cadherin (CDH13) & has been published & validated for use in WB, IH(P).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected T-cadherin in human brain and human heart tissues.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in human heart tissue lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 0.1 µg/mL of this antibody detected T-cadherin on 10 µg of human heart tissue lysate.

Target description

~130 and ~105 kDa observed.
~130 kDa corresponds to the pro-protein and ~105 kDa corresponds to the proteolytically cleaved mature isoform. (Denzel, M., et al. (2010). J Clin Invest.120(12):4342–4352.)

Physical form
