Gene Information

human ... PBRM1(55193)

General description

BRG1-associated factor 180 (BAF180) is a subunit of the SWI/SNF-B (PBAF) chromatin remodeling complex, and is known to contain 6 bromo domains, 2 BAH domains, and a single HMG box DNA-binding domain. BAF180 has a critical and active role in the transcriptional activation and repression of specific genes via chromatin remodeling, including genes involved in the development of the heart, thus suggesting a role in mammalian development. Recent studies demonstrate BAF180 to suppress tumorigenesis through its ability to regulate both baseline and signal-dependent p21 transcription by its binding of the p21 promoter. Expression of BAF180 is reported in a wide range of tissues.

Immunogen

GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human BAF180.

Application

Anti-BAF180 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody for detection of BAF180 also known as protein polybromo-1, BRG1-associated factor 180 & has been validated in WB.
Chromatin Immunoprecipitation Analysis: A representative lot was used by an independent laboratory in ChIP (Xia, W., et al. (2008).

Cohesin subunits are frequently mutated in cancer, but how they function as tumor suppressors is unknown. Cohesin mediates sister chromatid cohesion, but this is not always perturbed in cancer cells. Here, we identify a previously unknown role for cohesin. We
